So, the time has finally come. With only one day left for 2012, what better time to announce what game we, the Dusty Cartridge team, have found worthy of this year’s Game of the Year Award. For those of you keeping track, we narrowed the plethora of titles down to six heavy hitters. They were:
- Borderlands 2
- The Walking Dead
- Hotline Miami
- Halo 4
After getting enough hands-on time to make an informed decision, each of us voted for what title we thought was most deserving of the crown. It was a hell of a race with two players in particular fighting it out for victory.
But enough jibber jabber. I am proud to announce that Dusty Cartridge’s Game of the Year for 2012 is …
Yes, our game of the year is Journey – the indie darling developed for the PlayStation Network by Thatgamecompany. Controlling a robed figure in a vast desert as you travel towards a mysterious a mountain in the distance, it is Journey that provided one of the most touching and involving experiences of the year.
The subtle, yet wonderful online inclusion only raises the game even further.
A big congratulations to Thatgamecompany as well as all the other nominees. Now, bring on 2013!
